I am not the woman you would desire

Desire......A strange word no?

the dictionary says it's an act of want

an act of badly needing something

and hey i am none of it

your eyes ask why

i am the woman who would never dress up for the date

i won't dance with you on your favorite song

rather laugh with you when subway sauce spills up on your lips

I could use more wisdom than grace

I may talk you out from the panic episodes that keep you awake

But i am not the woman you desire

I have bruises from the past relationships

I have scars, not the glorious battlefield scars

rather an ugly cat bite that is as deep as a pit

but i think it's gorgeous

I am not the woman you desire

I have faultlines

fault lines that try to tear me apart every night

But leave with multiple cracks

cracks of an unsettling mind

cracks of anxious thoughts

cracks of an extra pound on weighing scale

i will grow on you

through late night conversations

through ideas to communicate better

through poetry that screams

through sharing the unspeakable in inboxes

I am not the woman you desire

because i won't be writing poems for you

my poems are my force field against despair

my poems are the closest i can get to "love"

I am the woman you won't desire

or

Will you?

Love
P.

  42. Highly impressed with your thoughts which I could glimpse through your poem. Thoughts of an independent woman. Thoughts of a woman who is clear about what she wants in her life and what she doesn’t. If every girl is ready to embrace such viewpoints in their life they could live their life with better choices and less compromise. Beautifully crafted

  43. We worship woman in form of Devi; we call her nav Durga. then why one should expect her to dance on tunes with him or dress up like a princess for a date. she can be herself and instead of laughing on silly jokes she can be a a try companion in terms of being the strength go her better half. Beautiful poem.
